Online Poker Tips

Like golf, poker has many unwritten rules of poker etiquette. With money and pride at stake people can sometimes loose their cool. A Wingman always wins - and loses - with class. Here are our online poker tips for online poker etiquette and minding your manners at the table.

Go easy on the language	While online poker is an adult activity, nobody appreciates a potty mouth. A good rule of thumb for chat rooms and poker etiquette - pretend your Grandma is sitting at the table.
Don't be a jerk	It's rude to dose out too much trash talk, or to rub your opponent's face in it when you beat them. Besides being mean, it may negatively affect your winnings. In Vegas this behavior is looked down upon as 'tapping on the aquarium', which scares 'the fish' away.
Keep up with the pace	Don't slow down the game by being inattentive or multi-tasking. Use advance actions whenever it makes sense. Poker etiquette states that wasted time equals wasted opportunity for everyone at the table.
Don't Coach	Doesn't matter if you are playing, observing a table, or have folded out of a hand - you shouldn't coach other players. Let them get Poker Wingman if they need some online poker tips!
No Backchat	When you fold a hand, don't tell anyone what your hand was.  Once a hand is done, let it go. This poker etiquette applies to online play or home games.
Shut it	The less you talk the better – the way you chat can be a strong tell. Besides having good online poker etiquette, why give away valuable information to your opponents?
Keep Your Cool	Dont snap or go on tilt if things don't go your way. Having good poker etiquette means keeping your chat positive, and don’t use ALL CAPS, which is seen as shouting.
English Only	If you are chatting in another language the other players will get suspicious, even if your chat is on the up and up.
Cheating is for Chumps	Don't cheat by colluding with other players at the table, or by using poker bots to play for you. If you are caught, the poker room will blacklist you for life. And why do you need to cheat anyway? Just get Poker Wingman.
